Trainee Truss & Joist EWP Designer

An opportunity has become available for a Trainee Roof Truss and Joist Designer/Estimator to join our office based team in Stanton.

A&B Timber Engineering Ltd is a busy manufacturer of Roof Trusses and Engineered Joists based in Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We supply products to building contractors, self-builders and Blue Chip Developers.

This is a full time position working 41.5hrs per week Monday to Friday.

All office equipment will be provided for you to complete your role in the business. Smart casual dress code.

Your role as a designer will be:

· Learning to read and interpreting construction and architect drawings to provide quotations and designs suited to the requirements of the building project.

· Work closely with your colleagues as well as keeping in regular communication with clients, contractors, architects and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

· Issue fabrication drawings to the production department for manufacture.

· Provide accurate designs and competitive quotes to generate business and build relationships with customers.

· Using a specialist software to provide designs and quotations.

· A knowledge of MiTek, Wolf, GangNail and Alpine would be an advantage.

You will be capable of working under pressure in order to meet deadlines and will be able to pick up processes quickly and efficiently.

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
