Afrocats is looking to engage a freelance bookkeeper or finance assistant to support the financial administration of Afrocats.

This role will involve;

  • Accurate and timely recording of all donations received on the donor database.
  • Ensuring restricted income is allocated in accordance with Afrocats
  • Accurate and timely bank reconciliations
  • Accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of petty cash
  • Accurate and timely processing of Supplier invoices
  • Accurate processing of expense claims in line with Expense policy and
  • procedure
  • Loading receipts onto the system and collecting Petty Cash change from Bank
  • Gift Aid Administration.
  • Provide payroll processing and payment runs.
  • Support annual audit, year-end and month-end cycles to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
  • Ad-hoc and other duties as may become necessary.

We are looking for someone who is;

  • Friendly, patient and approachable
  • A good communicator with people who speak little or no English
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Experience with Quickbooks
  • Experience with Charity accounts

KEY DETAILS

  • You will spend approximately 2 days a month working for us, sometimes more during busy periods.
  • We’d like someone to start as soon as possible with availability through to the end of December.
  • Interviews will be held on a rolling basis and will be with Magdalen Bartlett, Afrocats CEO and a member of the Trustee board.

The fee will be £15/20ph based on experience and negotiation.

This role is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
