Associate Practitioner Histopathology/Mortuary
Role Overview & Responsibilities
The post holder will act as an Associate Practitioner who provides a technical service for patient samples as an aid to the diagnosis of fetal, perinatal and paediatric disease.
To practice as an Associate Practitioner specialising in Histopathology. The post holder will work with the other Biomedical Scientists and Mortuary Anatomical Pathology Technologists for the smooth running of the service.
The post holder will work closely with other pathology disciplines participating in the development of pathology services. The post holder will make a proactive contribution to the continuing professional development of themselves and colleagues.
They will perform a range of technical procedures and provide technical support to Histopathologists. The post will involve liaising with Coroner's Officers, Police Officers, Funeral Directors, Bereavement Care and Nursing Staff, Bereaved Parents and users of the Histopathology service.
