Solicitor/Legal Executive, Personal Injury Assistant
A Solicitor/Legal Executive is required by a long-established law firm based in the heart of West Yorkshire.
The practice offers a wide range of specialisms and areas of practice.
The successful candidate will have up to 2 year PQE or a highly experienced in personal injury litigation.
Role responsibilities
- The incoming Personal Injury Solicitor or Paralegal will be part of a team that specialises in Claimant Personal Injury work.
- You will be responsible for managing your own files of a high value, both pre-litigated and litigated personal injury cases.
- It is essential you have experience in a similar personal injury role, managing your own caseload of multi-track or fast track cases and have a good understanding of the CPR and litigation process.
- You must also be an excellent negotiator with strong communication skills
- The prospective applicant must have experience in Multi track high-value Personal injury Claims. ( RTA, EL, PL, OL,)
- Knowledge of CPR and litigation procedures
Daily duties will include:
Dealing with cases of complexity, causation arguments and denials of liability with minimal supervision.
- Assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law.
- Drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity, and other general damages.
- Drafting Court proceedings, dealing with allocation questionnaires, adhering to court directions and timescales, preparing relevant documents for disclosure, submitting evidence and instructing Counsel/other appropriate experts as required.
Requirements for Personal Injury Fee Earner:
- At least 24 months experience handling a caseload of Fast Track and Multi-track claims
- At least 24 months experience handling litigation (any) personal injury claim
- Ability to have worked with Targets
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and settle files
- To have worked with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
- Have an ability to plan and prioritise your workload
- Working from your own Task List via our internal outlook management system
- Good people skills for teamwork and building relationships with co-workers and clients
- Good written and spoken communication skills
Candidates that do have the relevant experience could benefit from possible prospects of a Training Contract.
