Barn Owls Preschool are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our team. As a Deputy Manager you truly get the best of both worlds, you get to support our manager and you also get to have lots of fun with the children.

Desired Skills

• Have a friendly face and a warm welcoming smile.
• Have the ability to give big hugs or expect to be hugged on a regular basis.
• Be able to read a book whilst small hands are trying to turn the pages before you have finished each one. (Memorizing stories helps!)
• Have the ability to sing numerous songs and nursery rhymes on a loop and managing to cope with them popping into your head in the middle of the night.
• Must have a huge imagination as you may asked to become a superhero, princess, animal or cartoon character at the drop of a hat.
• Not mind getting messy and having unknown substances on your clothing throughout the day.
• Enjoy having children lead you and tell you what they want to do and involve you in this.
• Above all you must love to play and have lots of fun.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting the manager in running the nursery in the most effective way and creating a successful leadership team.
• Ensuring the smooth running of the nursery in the absence of the manager.
• Building strong relationships with Parents, Staff and children.
• Liaising with a variety of professionals from external agencies including health care professionals, therapists, support teachers etc.
• Helping to provide a high standard of support for our staff team.
• Holding a set of keys for the opening and closing of the nursery.
• Have the ability to safeguard our children, their families and the staff.

Candidates must have a minimum of a full and relevant Level 3 qualification, an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a first aid qualification.
