Nursery Chef

Are you an experienced chef who has a passion about cooking for children?

At Blossom Tree Montessori, we are recruiting for a Nursery Chef to join our brand new nursery in Eastcote! We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and hard working to provide healthy and nutritious meals for our children. This is a permanent role, working Monday to Friday 8:30am-4pm. We are based in very convenient location next to the High Street in Eastcote and we are an 8 minute walk from the station.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for managing the kitchen on a day to day basis.
• Preparing and cooking for up to 97 children per day.
• Following procedures to ensure that allergies, intolerances and preferences are taken into consideration for all children.
• Maintain the hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring the daily and weekly cleaning duties are complete.
• Ensuring all the Food Safety documents are updated daily.
• Follow procedures relating to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). Ensure cleaning materials are stored safely and records are kept up to date.
• Ordering of food on a weekly basis.
• Training of new staff in the kitchen as we grow and have more children.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Experience of working in a Nursery or School kitchen is essential.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate is essential.
• NVQ Level 1 and 2 Chef training is essential.
• Hard-working, good time management skills and can work well on their own and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

We take safeguarding very seriously and a current and clean Disclosure Barring Services (DBS) Certificate is essential.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
