Role Overview & Responsibilities
A new opportunity for a Production Scientist for a leading next generation sequencing company in Oxford has just become available, this is a challenging and rewarding role, joining a well established and supportive team. The role is a maternity cover position initially for 9-12 months but could become permanent as the organisation continues to expand.
The Production Scientist will be producing and performing in-process analysis for various reagents for manufacturing buffers, polymers etc., components for the sequencing kits and other biological materials (proteins, analytes) to cover both internal and external demand.
The role revolves around the preparation of reagents to strict SOPs, use of lab equipment to GLP standards, packaging and assembling kit components in an accurate manner, as well as maintaining detailed documentation. Additional duties involve basic lab maintenance, general use reagent preparation, stock monitoring and control.
The ideal Production Scientist will be a positive team player with experience in a chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical biotechnology environment, or in small or large scale protein, DNA, or chemicals processing.
