Days Warehouse Operative

Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for Days Warehouse Operative based at our Cross Hands depot.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The role for a Warehouse Operative is to maintain well stocked shelves, pick customer orders and maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment. Recycle our used materials in an appropriate manner. Duties include:

• Working as part of team to ensure picking bays are fully replenished adequately for picking the following night;
• Maintaining good stock rotation ensuring shortest dates are picked first;
• Picking orders in accordance with customer requirements;
• Ensuring all products are handled correctly to minimize damages;
• Maintaining excellent customer service when dealing with customers;
• Checking deliveries via a Bluetooth headset;
• Put away of deliveries ensuring new stock is either filled or stored correctly;
• Completing stock checks to guarantee correct stock levels;
• Reporting all stock discrepancies, date issues or other related concerns to management / team leader.

Who are we looking for:

• A team player who can also work independently when required
• Someone who demonstrates attention to detail
• No previous experience is required as full training will be provided
• You should consider yourself physically fit
• Have basic literacy and numeracy skills (a basic test is given at interview)
• Be prepared to work in a cold store at -20 (full protective equipment is provided)

What we offer:

• A full-time position, 43 hours a week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 07:45-17:30. Saturday 08:00-17:00.
• £24,110.86 starting rate with the potential to increase after probationary period
• 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays. You will be expected to work some Bank Holidays if required.
