Forestry chainsaw operatives and forest workers required

General forestry workers required for estate work close to Arundel, West Sussex.

Tasks will be varied and include, but not limited to, Ash harvesting alongside harvesters, Chestnut fencing processing, Re-planting of clear fell sites and other general forestry related jobs.

The work will also include maintenance of existing young plantations in the summer months, using hand tools, brush-cutters and chainsaws (tools provided). Removal of competing weed species to promote good growth of crop trees.

All training will be given by the friendly team to anyone who is consistent in their work and arrives on time. You must have your own transport to site and driving licence and live within a 45min drive of Arundel or willing to relocate. No accommodation is provided or assisted with (thanks to historic mongrels). Work is very physical but is varied. Good opportunity to learn the industry on the job but you will need to be in good physical condition.

If you are interested in the mechanised side of the job, then involvement in this is a possibility. All of this harvesting machinery is very modern (Ponsse harvesters, John Deere forwarders, Fendt tractors, Fliegl ejector trailers, Jenz chipper).

All work will be with in a 10 mile radius of Arundel, West Sussex

Self employed full time contract but consideration to employment after a trial period.
