2D/3D Physics/Science Animator and Video Editor - YouTube

We are looking for a passionate animator with a science background to to join our small YouTube production team producing science and technology content for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

Specifically we are looking for an animator/editor familiar with After Effects and Blender to help us explain complex scientific topics across a range of disciplines with eye catching 2D and 3D graphics and animations.

In the past year, our channel has grown to over 120,000 subscribers and we are excited to now offer the opportunity to join our team to help it grow to the next level.

The Animator/Editor Responsibilities:

• Meeting with the team to determine video vision.
• Producing clear and detailed animations based on video topics
• This may require some background understanding in the sciences or the ability to find reference images from textbooks or online materials to help explain complex ideas
• Support with Editing A-roll and B-roll required to deliver the video.
• Sourcing appropriate music or sound effects to complement the animation or video
• Producing custom motion graphics, animations, or effects to raise the production quality of the video
• Maintaining strong communication with the team, meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years professional experience as a video editor/animator.
• Understanding of basic science concepts and interest in science or technology
• Hands-on experience with editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Blender, and Premier.
• Creative and artistic skill and demonstrated aesthetic.
• Familiarity with 2D and 3D composition and special effects and software such as blender
• Portfolio of completed film productions.
• Ability to work to a tight schedule.
• Ability to translate ideas into complete projects.
• Some background in science, either at undergraduate or Masters + level

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £25,099.00-£27,123.00 per year
