Role Overview & Responsibilities

Additional $11,621.16 for annual benefit allowance (Pro-rated for part-time positions)
Knowledge of:
· Special Education laws, regulations and best teaching practices
· Basic Microsoft Office skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Employment preparation
· Basic teaching strategies and classroom management
Ability to:
· Develop and maintain records of competency level and attendance for each student
· Provide group and individual instruction utilizing effective teaching strategies, aids and equipment
· Manage classroom in a manner conducive to learning
· Plan instruction and design learning experiences supportive of all students
· Establish a system that shows pupil progress toward established standards
· Communicate with parents, counselors and administrators as needed
· Keep abreast of current practices, technology and training methods
· Align curriculum to academic standards as appropriate so students see the relevance between career technical and academic standards
· Evaluate student skills and job readiness competencies
· Instruct and prepare students for entry-level jobs or continued education in the Merchandising field
· Develop workplace learning sites and training plans; maintain supervision of all community classroom, cooperative vocational education components, school to career, field trips, job shadowing, etc.
· Work effectively as part of a team; collaborate in planning process for modifications in curriculum
· Manage Workability program (maintain database and meet with students)
· Representative and liaison at IEP meetings for future and current students
· Develop an ongoing Industry Advisory Committee
Education/Experience:
· 2 years of Special Education experience desired
· Possess or qualify for a valid California Career Technical teaching credential in Marketing or related field
· To qualify for a valid California Career Technical teaching credential, you must have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in the Marketing field, one (1) of which must have been within the last three (3) years. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,893.80 - $103,459.93 per year
