Temporary Part-Time Animal Care Assistant

Express Recruitment are thrilled to be working alongside a well-respected Local Authority who are recruiting for a Part Time Animal Care Assistant to join their Kennel workforce on a temporary basis in order to support the handling and care of animals.

You will be working in the kennels with the dogs, providing 1-1 support and utilising basing cleaning equipment including hoses, brushes and general care. You will not be customer facing in this position, mainly providing care to the animals in your sector.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Check animals daily and monitor their health
• Undertake any relevant grooming activities and utilise equipment accordingly
• Prepare food and assist at feeding times
• Clean out kennels and enclosures regularly

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience handling animals desirable
• A gentle and calming approach to animals
• Thorough with good attention to detail
• The ability to work on own initiative when required

Vacancy Summary

Hours: Monday – Friday, shifts of 8:00am-1:30pm or 2:00pm-8:00pm (23 hours per week)

Salary: c£10.90 per hour D.O.E

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Job Type: Temporary, with the possibility to extend
