Join our office team - Trainee accountant

We’re looking for a Trainee Accountant.

Main responsibilities

• Preparation and processing of payroll data for weekly & monthly paid staff

• Cash Management processing in Oracle

• Preparation of VAT return for the Finance Director on a monthly basis

• Prepare and process journals at month end along with Management Accountant

• Provide support for the Management Accountant as required

Key Tasks

• Act Responsible for Queens Road petty cash

• Driver Revenue Reconciliation to cash banked

• Interrogate and balance expenses journals for staff

• Processing of supporting data for TfGM invoice submission

• Reconcile and interrogate all bank statements lines

• Produce weekly cashflow forecasts for Group

• Assist the external auditors with any enquiries

• Balance web / mobile sales and other ‘off bus’ revenue streams

Essential Requirements

• Excellent organisational and administrational skills

• Ability to work under own initiative & under instruction

• Microsoft Office applications

• Good communication skills: both written and verbal

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Self-starter and highly motivated

Desired Requirements

• Good sense of humour and a flexible approach to varying workloads

• Good knowledge of Oracle

Salary

• £21,000 per year

Notes

The position comes with a training package where Go North West will fund the required exams for the successful candidate to become a qualified accountant. The successful candidate can choose the ACCA or CIMA qualification.
