Production Materials & Packing Assistant (Warehouse)

Ciao! We are Hackney Gelato, and we make proper ice cream. The company was set up by two chefs, Sam and Enrico who are passionate about delivering their product into Restaurants, Deli’s, Cafes, and shops so that everyone can experience Michelin star quality ice cream.

We are a small business, but we are growing very quickly which is why we need someone to join us as a Production Materials & Packing Assistant. The successful applicant will report directly into the Production Manager, working closely with both the Production and Warehouse teams, and will be a key team member in contributing to our growth and success of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Move and stack materials

· Keep production lines supplied with ingredients, packaging materials and empty containers as required

· Packing & boxing finished product as the final stage of production

· Adherence to Food Safety and Quality rules

· General housekeeping duties in the Warehouse / Production area as required

· Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any faults or wear and tear

· Promoting a good Health & Safety culture

As we are a small business, there may be times when you will need to support in other areas, such as general Warehouse duties. We are a growing business, so there will be opportunities to get involved in additional projects and workstreams for development.

Essential Skills:

· Quick learner

· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

· Warehouse and/or Food Production or Packing experience (1 year)

· You must be confident lifting weights of 25kg safely

· Team player

· Hard worker

· Flexibility

· Accuracy & good attention to detail

· Food Safety

· Allergens awareness

Desirable Skills:

· Experience of working in a fast paced food production factory

· Experience of working in a growing business

Location: We are based in Walthamstow (E17 5QJ), 5 minutes’ walk from Blackhorse Road Underground Station. The role is based 100% on site, there is no home working available.

Working Hours: Mon – Fri; 8:30 – 17:30 with 1 hour lunch break. Flexibility may be needed during peak seasons (e.g. 9:00 – 18:00)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £24,000.00-£24,856.00 per year
