Role Overview & Responsibilities
Hillside Animal Sanctuary at Frettenham
Hours of Work: 7.30am - 5.00pm Summer Season, working 5 days over 7 with alternate weekends.
Job Description
Assisting in providing a high standard of care to rescued horses, cattle, sheep
and pigs at the sanctuary.
Duties to include (but not limited to)
- Preparation of feeds & daily feed run operations
- Cleaning out of animal paddocks, enclosures and water tanks
- Closely monitoring animal health and well-being
- Maintaining safe, clean, warm and dry environments for the animals
- Moving, leading and grooming equines
- Tractor/trailer driving
- General cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Skills/ Qualities
- A genuine interest in animal welfare
- Animal husbandry qualification or experience of working with large animals
- Current manual driving licence
- Practical hands-on and hard-working approach to work
- Capable to carry out manual handling
- Ability to work alone and within a team
- Good communication skills
- Experience of outdoor working in all Seasons
- Excellent time-keeping and attendance to work
