Macclesfield Hospital - Porter - Full/Part Time

Macclesfield Hospital are Recruiting for the Following Porter's Positions;

Monday to Friday - 16.00 - 20.00 - Part Time

Key Responsibilities include:

• Collection/delivery of dirty/clean linen from wards & departments
• Changing of medical gas cylinders on wards & departments
• Receipt/delivery of stores to wards & departments. Documentation & record-keeping
• Implement Company’s quality management system
• Collection/delivery of specimens/pathological stores to & from wards & departments
• Collection/delivery of pharmacy boxes, drug envelopes, pouches, saline’s, stores & other items
• Transportation of patients, using either chair/bed to and from wards & departments
• Transportation of deceased patients to mortuary using appropriate means of transport
• Unloading & storage of medical gas cylinders in a safe manner
• Movement of furniture etc. within wards & departments
• In the event of fire or major incident, comply to strictly laid down authority procedures
• Ensure that all wheelchairs/patient trolleys are in correct area at designated times
• Report any mechanical or safety defects and need for repairs requiring immediate attention to Chargehand or Head Porter
• Report any accident immediately in accordance with the Accident Procedure
• Attend any training or meetings as required
• Keep minor records as instructed by Chargehand or Head Porter
• Develop good relationships with hospital staff in line with Best Practice Management
