Trainee Accounts Assistant

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of Finance. A logistics background would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will need to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Working as part of a team they will also need to be able to work on their own initiative. A support package is available for study towards AAT level 4.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Filing and maintaining information logs as appropriate.
• Processing Purchase and Sales Ledger invoices.
• Dealing with queries, filing and general administration tasks
• Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and members of staff.
• Chase key staff for return and approval of invoices.
• Enter expense claims.
• Assist in the preparation of payments
• Bank Reconciliations.
• Assist with answering the telephones.
• To carry out any other adhoc duties as requested by line management

Profile

• Competent user of Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Sage 50.
• Ability to prioritise own workload and ensure deadlines are met.
• Good communication skills
• AAT Level 2 or higher
• Minimum education requirements: Maths and English and / or Welsh GCSE grade C or above.
• Willingness to progress.
