Role Overview & Responsibilities
The pharmacy department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic stores assistant to join our friendly team. Both the Pharmacy Department and the Trust have a long standing reputation for being a friendly and rewarding place to work.
You must be reliable, highly motivated with good attention to detail and a good level of fitness is required due to manual handling.

You will need to be computer literate, have good communications skills on both a written and verbal basis and have excellent attention to detail with the ability to work on your own within set boundaries.
You must have previous experience working in a warehouse setting or pharmacy environment. A good level of fitness is required due to the level of manual handling.

You will be expected to participate in the weekends, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.

Key duties include:
Receipt of deliveries from supplier Supply of medicines to dispensary, the wards and the widercommunity Carry out a ward top-up service including replenishing stock and checking expiry dates To check the receipt of goods against orders and delivery notes.
To process orders from dispensaries.
To supply wards and departments with stock items.
To assess the requirements for medicines on wards and departments in accordance with agreed stock lists as part of the “top-up” service.
To ensure that wastage of medicines is minimised by correct stock rotation and correct storage.
We use the skills of our pharmacy staff, working as a team, to provide a high quality, professional pharmacy service to patients. The service is responsive to the needs of patients and has developed the use of IT to improve patient safety and efficiency. We value the partnership we have with Boots who provide services to Outpatients and A&E patients and the high quality services we provide to other organisations.
