LSE Fellows (GV101) – 3 vacancies


Salary from £39,313 to £47,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £50,614 pa inclusive of London allowance


These are fixed term appointments for 2 years with possible extension for a further year, subject to funding.


The Department of Government, a large and vibrant academic unit within the LSE, is seeking to appoint three LSE Fellows (GV101). The post-holders will contribute to the Department’s teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate) and research activities in the discipline of Political Science. The successful candidates will teach on GV101: Introduction to Political Science, contribute to course administration and help prepare teaching materials, mark formative and summative work and support the learning and development of undergraduate students taking the course.

Candidates should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in Political Science or a closely related discipline by the start date, 1 September 2023. They will also have a developing research record in Political Science, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate excellent teaching skills. Candidates must demonstrate a very good knowledge of current political science research on comparative political institutions, political behaviour and public policy. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers and to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment; and a commitment to equality and diversity. Relevant experience in teaching, managing courses, and mentoring students, are desirable.
