Energy Consultant (research)

Location – Hybrid, London Vauxhall

Start Date - ASAP

Salary – £35,000 - £40,000

Hybrid Split – 3 days in office – 2 days working from home

The Energy Consultant will work directly with the Head of Consult in the delivery of work by collaborating with the Consult team members in London and Rio, the Rio Analysts, Overseas Analytics teams in London and Kuala Lumpur, and other internal teams necessary to gather information for customized market intelligence outputs. This includes country and insight reports, internal and external presentations, supply chain analyses, and competitor analyses. In addition , the Energy Consultant will be responsible for lead generation, sales of Consult services, and follow-up activities related to workscopes and clients.

Purpose / Role:

The role of the Energy Consultant is to support the growth and retention of Consult's client portfolio by researching and liaising with subject matter experts and team members to compile bespoke reports and presentations for clients. The Energy Consultant is expected to continually build knowledge across all energy sectors and present an impartial view to existing and potential clients during lead generation and consultation activities.

Key Aims and Objectives:

  • Continually build knowledge across all energy sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Use available products and information to build comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Continually build knowledge across all sectors.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to generate Consult reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team members when required.
  • Quality check data continuously and provide feedback to the Head of Consult.
  • Provide market insights to clients when required.
  • Build own network of contacts within the industry.
  • Sell and promote Consult services to members and non-members.

Occasional Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of material for presentations and reports for the Market Intelligence team.
  • Execute other relevant duties as directed by the department.

The Key Internal Interfaces for this role include the Head of Consult, the Consult team, the Director of Market Intelligence, the Information Product Development Team, Energy Analysts, Overseas Analyst Teams, and Regional Directors. These interfaces will be crucial to the success of the Consultant in delivering bespoke reports and presentations for clients.

The Core Competencies required for the role include being organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable in at least one energy sector with a willingness to learn about others, passionate about furthering own knowledge, ability to manage time effectively and deliver against tight deadlines, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, proven research ability, self-starter with a strong work ethic, customer-focused, and the ability to develop and manage relationships with potential and existing clients. These competencies will enable the Junior Consultant to effectively liaise with the internal and external interfaces, and contribute to the growth and retention of company Consult's client portfolio.
