Offshore Safety Engineer
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job description:
- Responsible for the timely creation of Safety work orders according to the criticality and priority provided by the CMMS system (UNISOL) and the Prep Team Lead.
- Skilled with CMMS and able to examine and analyse Work Orders to a high degree.
- Maintain up-to-date safety databases with precise material status information.
- Coordinate with the Scheduler to prioritise plans based on the state and urgency of work orders.
- Avoid creating a backlog.
- Examine the existing backlog and identify any work orders with the status PROK-AWSC that can be incorporated into the weekly execution plan.
- Examine and revise the equipment maintenance plan as necessary.
- Ensure a deferral is issued if a Work Order exceeds the LAFD.
- Offer cost-cutting measures
- Use the NMR form and process to request new SAP component numbers.
- Organizing the erection of scaffolding in advance of the execution of scheduled tasks.
- Coordinating the preparation of a lifting plan prior to the execution of a work schedule.
- Conduct routine trips to the asset to perform safety PMs.
Required qualifications/work experience:
- Proven oil & gas industry experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of oil and gas exploration equipment.
- Suitably experienced in the use of SAP to prepare work orders and monitor material availability.
- Knowledge of the modes of failure applicable to large industrial equipment such as fans, pumps and compressors and their associated components.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
- The ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers and superiors.
- Up to date working knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
