Job type - Full time & Part time, Permanent (Term time only)

Salary - £32,516 per annum

Hours - 7 - 37 hours per week

Totton College, proud to be part of Nacro are hiring a Nurse to facilitate and develop the provision of nursing care and health promotion for students and staff within the college community.

This role sits within our SEND department of the college and based within our specialist Skills for Life Curriculum area, reporting to the Head of SEND Support.

We are looking for a professional who will always act as the students’ advocate, using the NMC Professional Code of Conduct as a framework for nursing practice.

Please note: We are offering the flexibility of this role being filled by either full time or part time hours. When submitting your application form, please specify whether you are applying for a full time or part time role, with preference of the hours you wish to work.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To lead the planning, review and delivery of personalised care plans and routines for students.
  • Supervise and support staff in the delivery of personal care for students with disabilities and learning difficulties, including moving and handling.
  • Assist with the assessment of moving and handling students and their handling profiles.
  • Develop documented clinical procedures for interventions required by students, such as gastroscopy feeding, suctioning, oxygen therapy, epilepsy, and the administration of medications.
  • Identify requirements for and deliver staff training within the faculty.

Essential requirements - Candidate’s applying must have a Nursing qualification.

Desirable requirements - It would be beneficial to already have Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - school nurse qualification. Experience or exposure of working within a School or College.
