Role Overview & Responsibilities
This role will be on a rotational shift pattern (days and nights) 12 hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery to the highest standards so as to maximise production on the lines and achieve targets
- Guarantee the utmost quality of all production as well as the completion of related checks and paperwork
- Accurate and timely set up of machinery during changeovers
- Maintain food factory standards e.g. housekeeping and line clearance of area, through to deep cleaning machines
- Basic maintenance, fault finding and repairs of machinery and equipment
- Become an in-house expert on a particular machine and attain working knowledge of all machines in production
- Improve line efficiencies, make suggestions and play active role in company e.g. H & S, continuous improvements
- Effective handover to the next shift ensuring good communication of performance
- Completion of production related documents and provision of feedback on any issues
- Efficient preparation for the day / shift /change over ahead
- Flexibility to rotate between jobs and shifts should the need arise
- Any other duties and tasks deemed to be within competence and within reason
- Ensuring good manufacturing practice (GMP) in all aspects of work
- Ability to identify and report any non-conformances to Quality Dept / Line Manager
- Working to standard operating procedures
- Carrying out all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Adherence to PPE requirements
- Safe use of chemicals
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of operating at least 2 production line machines
- Experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organizing and prioritizing skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills – due to the need for completion of food safety compliance paperwork, good written/spoken/reading English skills are essential

Salary: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
