Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Oxford MSHT Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service are looking for an organised and compassionate Administrator to join the current team. You will work closely with the Clinicans, in addition to working within an experienced Admin team.

The MHST CAMHS is a schools based mental health service for children and young people. The MHST supports young people and parents of children who have mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The service offers face to face, clinic based and video conferencing approaches to delivering care and assessments across the county of Oxfordshire.

You will need to have experience working within a fast paced environment, demonstrate a flexible approach, with the ability to manage workload and maintain professionalism during busy periods.

A typical days duties will involve undertaking general administration duties that are specific to the CAMHS MHST such as answering the phone and responding to voicemails, recording referrals/internal transfers, minuting meetings, managing diaries and completing letters where required. There will be attendance at a variety of meetings and supporting specific project support where required.

Other duties include undertaking general office duties, as required, e.g., typing, excel use, word use, data inputting, filing, scanning/copying, in line with Trust Policies and Procedures. You will be asked to support the team manager with administration such as ordering kit/equipment, inputting data, and managing AL portals and payments where directed.

The role will also involve arranging and confirming appointments and meetings, making appropriate arrangements e.g., hospitality, booking venues, equipment, etc.

The role is hybrid, therefore this is a blend of working in the office in Raglan House Cowley, along with some working from BYHP in Banbury, and where appropriate working from home.

You will require excellent communication skills as you will often be the first point of contact for the service answering to telephone enquiries and arranging appointments for those accessing and referring to the service.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
