Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join our friendly team to help us deliver accurate high quality and timely Pathology services for patients and the clinical staff caring for them.
Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust Haematology and Blood Transfusion department has a well-equipped, highly automated laboratory currently using Beckman DxH900 FBC analysers, Starrsed ESR analysers, Stago coagulation analysers and Ortho Vision Max for blood grouping (soon to be moving to Biorad IH500s).
Portsmouth supports staff development via internal courses including Trust Leadership and Management programmes. MSc and specialist portfolios are also actively encouraged along with CPD participation for all staff.
Our laboratories run a 24/7 service and there is a requirement for you to be flexible and able to participate, as part of the team (which includes Associate Practioner and MLAs), in the full 8hr shift rota, covering earlies, cores, lates, nights and weekends / bank holidays.
