We are currently recruiting a Project Manager to join our Commercial team on a permanent basis.

Location: Cardiff

Salary: up to £42,000/year (depending on experience)

Working hours: 37.5h/ week

Work schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm; Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The day-to-day management of project governance, reporting and control structures, with issues, risks and decisions escalated through the agreed Governance arrangements as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Project Management or equivalent experience.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar (desirable).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Interpret customer briefs, monitor performance, set targets and KPI’s in line with Project objectives and report to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative, professional and pro-active working relationship with production and other teams to ensure safe and successful delivery of project requirements.
  • Ensure projects are resourced and implemented correctly whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Assist and participate in tender processes to ensure on time delivery whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Plan and manage a portfolio of non-complex/complex projects throughout the complete project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and manage a project management plan, including responsibility matrix, detailed programme and cost/resource plans.
  • Accountable for complex internal and external stakeholder engagement/management. Agree project requirements with the Contract Manager to ensure that business objectives are met.
  • Responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and championing the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth implementation of the projects.
  • Identify project and health and safety risks and develop plans for risk mitigation with the HSE Manager.
  • Meet financial project objectives by preparing budgets, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Submit project status reports to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Training and Competency Manager to ensure that all competency requirements are in place for projects.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined, you must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post.
