The kitchen is said to be the heart of the home, and here at Ragdale Hall ours beats with a passion.
Serving over 200 guests for per day, our kitchen is a thriving hub of activity, full of innovative meals and delicious desserts. We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to help with the smooth running of all activities within the kitchen, from ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic, to preparing mouth-watering salads and desserts. You will also handle and manage food sorting and storage as well as maintain our state-of-the-art food preparation equipment.

Key responsibilities
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients
- Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare salads and desserts
- Disposing of rubbish
- Organising linen laundry
- Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
The ideal candidate will have
- A strong work ethic
- An interest in food is desirable
- Previous experience in a kitchen is also desirable but NOT essential as we will train you in all you need to know.
- The job involves some physical labour.
Hours of work
39 hours per week working on a rota basis including weekends when required. Hours are worked between 7am - 11pm. Straight shifts.
Salary*
Age 16/17 - £7.95 per hour
Age 18-20 - £9.36 per hour
Age 21+ - £10.70 per hour
