Devon Wildlife Trust is a successful and dynamic charity with a commercial arm, Devon Wildlife Consultants (DWC). DWC are looking for Assistant Ecologists on a permanent and temporary basis to join our friendly and close-knit commercial consultancy team. We provide a range of commercial services including wildlife surveys and assessment, developer support, training, and advice to businesses and landowners. Profits from the company are donated to Devon Wildlife Trust to help deliver its extensive programme of conservation, learning and engagement activities.
The Assistant Ecologists will support the team by carrying out field surveys including evening bat surveys, practical habitat tasks, mapping, basic reports and tender production. Due to the smaller size of the consultancy, the persons employed will need to be able to undertake a range of work relating to all aspects of ecological consultancy.
In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ services)
- Agile working arrangements including home working
- Flexitime system
- Salary progression (subject to satisfactory performance)
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Death in Service cover
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
- Cycle to work scheme
- Training and development opportunities
There are full-time, permanent and temporary posts (for 6 months) contractually located at Aldens Court, Exeter. Antisocial hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends are an essential part of the role.
Interviews are being held on 22nd and 23rd February 2023.
We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and abilities who meet the essential criteria for this role. We are an inclusive organisation that is seeking to involve more diverse audiences in our work.
