Toddler Teacher

Safari Kid - Irvington is now hiring passionate Toddler teacher to provide a caring & nurturing environment for children for children 24 - 36 months. Responsibilities

• Employ Montessori educational techniques to teach children (training provided if needed)
• Preparing and maintaining the classroom environment to optimize student learning.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children’s progress and communicate professionally with parents
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Must be able to change diapers

Skills

• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and Montessori educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Qualifications:

• AMS or AMI Montessori training preferred
• 12 core units in Early childhood + Infant/ Toddler Units and at least 1 year experience working with toddlers.
• Self- motivated, responsible, driven and works well with minimal supervision
• Certification in child CPR and first Aid
• Current TB test and health report
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:

In line with current industry standards.

Full time and Part time positions (2:00 - 6:00 pm)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
