Laundry Assistant

Shafa Medical services is looking for a permanent laundry assistant to join our nursing home in Hove.

Up to 15 hours per week are being offered as well as the opportunity to cover staff absences. Job share will be considered for the right candidates.

It is important that the successful candidate is experienced in infection control practices especiallyconsidering the current pandemic that we are all living through.

About the job - The role of Laundry Assistant involves sorting, washing, drying, ironing and contributing to the overall look and feel of the home. You will help to make sure our residents receive quality care and support in the best possible surroundings. By making sure each resident has clean clothing and bedding, you’ll be playing your own part in helping everyone to feel comfortable and at home. This position also includes some housekeeping this is a thursday friday saturday and every other sunday position.

About you - Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a similar role, but full on the job training will be provided (e.g. infection control, health & safety). You’ll have daily contact with residents, relatives and guests so a warm personality and good customer care is essential. You must be self-motivated and have the enthusiasm and drive to work hard to achieve high quality results and excellent standards of cleanliness. You’ll enjoy a challenge and be prepared to ‘go the extra mile’. We are a friendly team who support each other so a good team player with a great sense of humour is a must!
