Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is an exciting new opportunity for someone who is passionate about sustainability and construction. This growing and progressive company is looking to take on a graduate sustainability consultant. This company cuts through the greenwashing and apathy and provides meaningful change to an industry that needs it.

In this role you will be advising clients on how to reduce the environmental impact of different buildings through the use of systems like BREEAM, HQM and DREAM. You will be responsible for compiling environmental suitability reports, which will help assess the environmental impact of buildings based on energy, pollution, waste, land use and materials used.

This is a full time opportunity starting in April/May

Essential Skills

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working on a wide variety of projects, with multiple clients, across all industry sectors
  • Becoming familiar with and keeping abreast of industry/sector initiatives through regular CPD’S
  • Team player capable of working in a team.
  • Excellent at project management and planning your own workload, dealing with competing deadlines.
  • Good communication skills- verbal and written.
  • Good computer (Microsoft 365) skills.
  • A passion for sustainability.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, Building Services, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge or awareness of BREEAM would be beneficial.
  • Potential for conducting embodied carbon Life Cycle Assessment modelling to assess carbon impact of construction materials on projects using OneClick LCA
  • Potential for development into various sustainability services including energy and sustainability statements for planning and IES-VE Modelling

What can we offer you?

  • Flexible, hybrid working – All of our staff are treated like adults and will agree a flexible approach that supports your skill-set development and personal circumstances. Currently the team ranges from five days a week in the office through to five days a week remotely.
  • Annual salary and regular progress reviews to make sure everyone is happy.
  • Accessible senior management team who encourage ideas and discussions.
  • Standard 23 days annual leave, with UK bank holidays on top. Leave allowance increases after 2 years’ service and the ability to “buy back” up to another five days holiday per year.
  • A clear personal development strategy – the company wants everyone to eventually be multi-skilled consultants, able to work across a range of services rather than being pigeon-holed in a single area (providing that’s what you want).
  • Company cycle scheme in place to encourage sustainable travel.
