Dairy Farm Worker

Large dairy farm, needs farm worker, full time, immediate start
Smiddlehill Farm is a well-established, modern dairy business based outside Newtownards. It has a milking herd of 600 pedigree Holstein Friesian cows. This vacancy would be suitable for someone wishing to either begin or further their dairying career and those wanting to expand their experience of animal husbandry.

Location Smiddlehill Dairy Farm, No 17 Crossnamuckley Road Newtownards, BT22 2AA Co Down.

Salary & Benefits Package

• Starting salary from £25,000 per year, salary will be dependent on experience and ability

Additional Information

This is a permanent full-time position.

• Working hours are around 5.00am - 5.00pm, with 2 days off per week and every other weekend off, approx 50hrs per week (A night milking may be required)

Duties and responsibilities:

• Milking duties
• Assessing and maintaining animal welfare
• Yard work
• Feeding and caring for calves
• General maintenance

Skills & Qualifications required

• Experience of working on a Dairy Farm is preferred but not essential
• Must be a good team player
• Have good communication skills e.g. passing on information and receiving instruction
• Good time keeping is essential
