Trust Doctor - Integrated Sexual Health

Solent NHS Trust (Community) has a vacancy for a Trust Grade doctor in the integrated sexual health department at Crown Heights , Basingstoke to commence from August 2023. This post provides excellent experience in Genito-urinary Medicine and HIV.

The Solent sexual health department is one of the largest integrated services in the South of England providing high quality services in the management of sexually transmitted infections (STI), HIV, contraceptive services, vasectomy, outpatient gynaecology scanning, psychosexual services and dedicated clinics for MSM and vulnerable patient groups.

The post holder will be required to work in a mixture of same day and booked appointment clinics managing patients with symptomatic STIs. There will be an initial induction package to support the training of the post holder in aspects where they lack previous experience. The post holder will need to be confident in working in an independent manner and to be able to ask for help where appropriate. The team includes 3 Consultants, 2 Specialty Doctors, sexual health nurses, health advisers, health care assistants, the HIV pharmacy team and sexual health promotion team.

This post does not have educational approval but would provide good clinical experience for those who are considering a career in sexual health. There will be access to regular educational sessions.
