Do you want to be a journalist with one of the world’s best news organisations?
The Telegraph is recruiting graduates who want to be part of our brilliant team. We want committed people who have a real passion for writing, revealing the truth, meeting people from all walks of life and telling their stories.
You will need to enjoy deadlines and writing under pressure, as well as be a self-starter and flexible. And you should love telling stories - in whatever format.
So many of our graduates have gone on to top jobs at the Telegraph. Among the Telegraph stars who first joined us as graduates are Political Editor Ben Riley-Smith, Features Writer Bryony Gordon, US Correspondent Josie Ensor, Whitehall Editor Tony Diver and Chief Sports Writer Oliver Brown.
We want that success to continue, and our unique 22 month scheme will give you top-quality training by our most experienced journalists.
You will get experience in different sections of The Telegraph, covering everything from news to features, business, sport and beyond. You will also receive a grounding in digital production and audience development. There will also be multiple networking opportunities with different teams and senior members of the newsroom.

Requirements:
  • A passion for journalism, adaptability, resilience, good judgement
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification (including non-journalism degrees)
  • Experience in student, local or other news organisations
  • Please note that this scheme is not open to established professional journalists
Applications for the programme will close at 10:00pm on Sunday 5th March, 2023. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications after this date.
Please apply with your CV, a cover letter explaining why you would like to work for The Telegraph, and include links to three pieces of work you want us to see.
Interviews will be conducted at the end of April. The successful candidates will join the team in September 2023.
The Telegraph’s goal is to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace and we are committed to building a team that reflects a wide variety of skills, perspectives, and backgrounds.
We are an equal opportunities employer, hiring solely on merit and business need.
