Catering Assistant

TJ Hughes is currently recruiting for a 16-hour Part Time Catering Assistant to join the Café team based at our TJ Hughes Café in Hartlepool.

This role is for 16 hours per week which is typically worked over any days out of Sunday to Saturday.

Responsibilities

Your role is to work as part of the team to ensure all customers receive the highest possible standard of service at all times in a pleasant, clean and safe environment.

• Provide each customer with a warm welcome and be polite, friendly and helpful at all times.
• Prepare foods and beverages to specification and the highest standards to ensure our customers fully enjoy their experience using our services.
• Make sure the kitchen, café and service areas are clean, tidy and well stocked and attractive during opening times, ensuring sufficient supply of crockery/cutlery.
• To work within the wash up area including using the dish washer while maintaining health & safety standards by keeping equipment clean, stored correctly and available for use.
• Ensure correct cash handling and till procedures are used during every transaction correctly, give the correct change and complete the transaction by providing the receipt to the customer.
• To ensure all counters/displays and servery areas are fully stocked, look appealing and replenished/refreshed as required.
• Assist when required receiving and checking off deliveries including correct storage.
• To maintain the highest possible standards of hygiene at all times, ensuring such standards are sustained throughout any food storage, food preparation and food handling activities.

Required Skills

• Proven experience of working in a Cafe
• Proven cooking skills and an interest in food and catering
• Knowledge on Health & Safety is required
• Till operating skills
