Maintenance Engineer - Newcastle Upon Tyne

TXM Recruit is working in partnership with an award-winning organisation on an exciting new project in the North East area. They are looking for experienced Maintenance Engineers to become part of an ever expanding and skilled team, working on a commercial reactive maintenance contract.

The company are recruiting in various areas of the UK, and the role involves moderate travelling (van and fuel card provided), so location is not too much of an issue. The role will require engineers to complete any reactive maintenance and repairs in a retail/commercial setting.

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:

• All on site reactive maintenance at commercial retail stores.
• Supervise other engineers on site.
• To perform general day to day building repairs to a high standard.
• Carry out risk assessments of maintenance and repair activities.
• Comply with Health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all works carried out.
• Co-operate with staff providing information when required
• Complete any other tasks within reason to assist in the overall responsibilities of the team.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Industry recognised trade qualifications.
• Ideally competent across a range of trades.
• At least 2 years previous experience in a relevant trade.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and work safely.
• Full clean driving licence.

Hours: Normal working day is 08:00 – 17:00 with an hour deducted for lunch and travel contribution. This can be subject to change and there may be times you have to work up to 2 hours from your home address, so you must be happy with travelling.

Pay: £13 - £15 Per hour (depending on experience)

On call approx. every 8 weeks – maximise OTE. Van & Tablet provided but would need operatives to supply own power & hand tools
