Role Overview & Responsibilities

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our teaching and learning community in Anatomy at Bristol, where a large team of teaching focused staff support ~1500 students.

The School of Anatomy delivers anatomy teaching to medical, dental, veterinary science and science undergraduates. We have three science programmes and provide postgraduate instruction through our CPD unit, the Vesalius Clinical Training Centre. We are also planning to introduce PGT programmes. As a senior lecturer your academic portfolio will incorporate teaching and leadership roles.

What will you be doing?

You may teach anatomy across science and medical and dental programmes and may be involved in interprofessional teaching for veterinary science. You will be expected to contribute substantially to practicals, lectures and seminars. You will design and supervise research projects for our BSc finalists. An excellent knowledge of Human Anatomy, and experience of research, is essential.

An enthusiasm for anatomy teaching methodologies and the experience and ability to participate in the design and organisation of courses is also an important aspect of the role. As a senior member of our teaching team, you will mentor others and contribute to staff development.
