Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking an animal Technician to join our team of Technicians. This post will provide exciting opportunities to advance your career in the rapidly developing field of transgenics. You will be qualified to IAT Level 2 and/or IAT level 3 or equivalent and have experience in an animal research environment.
Alternatively, we will consider those with no previous experience or professional qualifications onto our technicians training programme as a Trainee Technician (Grade 2: £22,150 - £22,197 p.a.). The emphasis for the trainee technician is pure animal husbandry for which no previous experience is required. You will have a caring attitude to animals, which is essential, together with a flexible approach to work and the ability to work in a small team.

About you
You need to be highly reliable, motivated and able to work independently during procedures, but also a team player as part of our technical team.
We are looking for someone with a caring attitude and attention to detail, both critical skills for working with animals in the research setting.
This is a permanent full-time position, 36.5 hours per week.
Owing to the nature of this position any offer of employment with the University will be subject to a satisfactory security screening.
