Department
The Centre for Global Programmes runs a portfolio of short courses and summer schools for partner universities. These programmes aim to build new international relationships and enhance existing relationships with key University partners across the globe and support the University’s internationalisation strategy. The Centre is an integral part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team in the External Relations Directorate.
Role
You will teach on a range of short courses where content can include language and skills development, culture, academic skills, employability skills, and English and business. You may also teach on York Summer Schools which are themed around disciplines in which the University excels, the main content of which is provided by York academics.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
You should have a relevant ELT qualification (minimum Cambridge ESOL CELTA, Trinity Certificate TESOL). You will be an experienced English language teacher who has worked for educational organisations in the UK and internationally. You will have the ability to design appropriate materials and deliver teaching across a range of components, including ELT, EAP and 21st Century skills. The position also requires the ability to plan, manage, organise and assess your own teaching contributions and provide appropriate feedback to students. You should have a high level of literacy skills and be a proficient user of office IT software packages, especially the Google Suite.
Contracts of various lengths available from mid-June to mid-September 2023
