Production Supervisor - Nights (4 on / 4 off shift pattern)

Vitacress Salads, based in St Mary Bourne, Andover is one of the leading salad and watercress suppliers in the UK. With our own salad leaf farms, we really can claim a field to fork operation. We grow, wash, pack and distribute salad and watercress for retailer own brands and our own brand Steve’s Leaves.

Due to our continued success and a period of expansion, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to work nights on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern from 6.00pm to 6.00am. The primary purpose of this role is to manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the department and team based at the St. Mary Bourne factory.

You would be joining us at a very exciting time as we are making a significant investment to upgrade our factory. You will be involved in the processing of product from salad leaf into bags or bowls and ensuring this meets the highest customer standards.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Ensure the adherence to Health & Safety using Assure (H&S management system) report any incident / accident ensuring prompt investigations and actions closed out - Risk assessments reviewed and monthly safety tours completed
• Ensure that high standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hygiene Manufacturing Practice (HMP) are maintained at all times across the shift
• Ensure an effective handover of the shift to the outgoing/incoming Supervisor to minimise downtime and maximise performance
• Manage and monitor the team’s performance to ensure the efficient achievement of production targets
• Plan appropriate staffing levels to counter periods of absence and holiday and to ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place during peak season
• Identify and lead the implementation of process improvements to maximise the team’s performance and reduce waste and work alongside other key departments
• Identify and manage the training needs of the team and ensure a succession plan is in operation to backfill roles when required
• Monitor and manage attendance and ongoing performance of the team in partnership with HR and using Dayforce
• Assist in the delivery of exceptional customer service – specifically in terms of quality and service levels
• Using the IT programmes IFS/Cedar Bay are key in delivering fully traceability and delivering an audit ready, compliant factory

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £17.67 per hour
