Kitchen Assistant

Winchester Racquets and Fitness is a private members sports club situated on the outskirts of Winchester, within walking distance of the city centre and train station. With over 2000 members, the club is a focal venue for racquet sports and fitness in the south of England. As well as tennis courts, squash courts, fitness centre and exercise studio, the club offers excellent social facilities including large café bar with terrace, as well as 2 conference rooms.

We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to add to our kitchen team to help us through the busy Christmas period.

Job title: Kitchen Assistant

Responsible to: Head Chef

Key Duties

• Ensure that all health & safety legislation and guidelines are adhered to
• Effectively work in a team
• Produce dishes as per club menu
• Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings & weekends
• Deputise in the absence of the head chef

Key Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both in person and by phone
• Knowledge of basic computer systems
• Previous experience in customer service (preferred, but not essential)
• Believe in, and want to promote the benefits of physical activity, and so be physically active yourself
• Working as part of the team and be an outstanding team player
• Ensure high standards throughout the Club at all times
• Be pro-active, enthusiastic and responsible in all you do

Hours will include evenings, weekends & Bank Holidays. Flexibility is essential.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

Salary: £8.00-£9.50 per hour
