Role Overview & Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Support brokers in the drafting of bespoke policy wordings for new and existing FI, PRI and TCI clients ensuring that these represent market best practice
- Assist claims team with any legaltechnical issues arising from complex losses across the full spectrum of FS products including legacy crisis management Undertake policy wording / contract reviews as required by existing Financial Solutions clients or to support new business activity with prospects
- Provide the teams across Financial Solutions with general legal, regulatory and technical advice including advice on transaction documentation / loan documentation
- Provide advice to brokers / clients on regulatory matters such as Basel IV / CRR, Reg Q, NY Insurance Law s applicable
- Active participation with industry bodies such as ITFA, IACPM and LMA
- Assist with the legal and documentary requirements of structured credit products, including Loan Repacks, SRT and Securities Lending
- Provide regular training and updates to brokers and clients, for example on policy wordings, IA 2015
- Participate in new product initiatives and innovation
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets & attributes:
- Educated to degree level.
- A lawyer with at least 5yrs PQE
- Detailed knowledge of Trade Credit Insurance, Non-Payment Insurance and bank loan facilities.
- Detailed knowledge of Market Reform Contracts / policy wordings
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, oral & presentation) skills and interpersonal skills essential
